WEEK 4 VISITING CAREER BOOTHS.

On week 4, our lecturer asked our class to visit the Career Booth in ICC IIUM during class time. There were numerous booths showcasing the resources of each organisation. I also get the chance to visit a few booths in order to learn and gain experience.

The co-founder of Buku Jalanan Chow Kit, Miss Rahayu Baharin, shared something during that visit. It is a nonprofit organisation that has been helping impoverished children with their education by offering volunteer-run after-school programmes and home-schooling options.

In addition, there is sharing by the MYCORPS Organisation, which is an international volunteering programme started by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, a branch of the Malaysian government. This organisation has been carrying out humanitarian projects to aid developing nations.

In Islam, the significance of seeking knowledge in Islam is highlighted as it is very important in order to be a student with a balanced in dunya and akhirah life. Prophet Muhammad said,

"Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim."

A visit to a career booth is a very beneficial activity, as it would allow us to learn more about the initiatives carried out by the organisations. It could be seen that Najwa has gained some knowledge of the activities done by the organisation and has related them to an Islamic perspective. This kind of reflection is needed after attending programmes, as by doing so, we'll realise and appreciate the knowledge that we gained. Well done!
